Some channels do not play

Most channels play. A few do not.

This pattern almost always points at the source rather than the app: the app treats every channel identically, so something that works for hundreds of channels and fails for three is not the player.

1. Do the failing channels have anything in common?

Section titled “1. Do the failing channels have anything in common?”

They are all from one source. That source is having a problem, and the others are unaffected. Open Sources and refresh it; if the refresh fails you will get a code explaining why.

They are premium, regional or newly added channels. Sources routinely list channels they no longer carry. The list is theirs, and the app shows what it is given.

2. Do they fail immediately, or after a few seconds?

Section titled “2. Do they fail immediately, or after a few seconds?”

Immediately. The source refused the connection. Common causes are a channel that has been dropped and a limit on how many streams your account may open at once.

After a few seconds, repeatedly. The stream started and then stopped. That is the source ending it, not the app closing it.

3. Do they work if you close everything else first?

Section titled “3. Do they work if you close everything else first?”

If a failing channel plays once you stop watching or recording elsewhere, you have reached your source’s limit on simultaneous connections, explained in how many streams you can watch at once. Reduce what is running, or ask your source about a higher limit. The app cannot raise it.
