Set up profiles and parental controls

Each profile keeps its own favorites, history and rules. Kid profiles add a content-rating cap and time limits.

1. Switch or create a profile

The Who’s watching? screen picks a profile. Open the Profiles page to Create new profile: give it a Display name and choose Kid or Adult. The app opens on the profile you used last.

2. Cap what a kid profile can watch

On a kid profile set Maximum content rating. Content above the cap is hidden across Movies, Shows and Live TV. You can also set a Daily time limit and a Bedtime lock; when a limit is reached the child sees a friendly lock and can ask an adult to unlock it.

3. Protect switching and adult content with a PIN

Set a Profile PIN so switching into a profile asks for it. Turn on Require PIN for adult content to hide the most restricted ratings until the PIN is entered. Changing another profile’s settings asks the owner to confirm with the owner PIN or the account password.

Where profiles are managed

You can create and edit profiles here in the app, and on the web console signed in to the same account. Profiles, favorites and history sync between your devices.
