If the app sent you here, you have reached a limit on your current plan, or used a feature that is part of a paid subscription. Nothing has gone wrong.

What is always available

Playing your own sources is the core of the app and does not expire. Adding a source, browsing channels, films and series, using the program guide and playing anything your source offers all work without a subscription.

Your settings stay on the device that made them.

What a subscription adds

• Syncing between devices. Favorites, profiles, resume points, custom groups and parental locks follow you, instead of each device keeping its own.
• More devices. Every plan allows a number of signed-in devices, and the app tells you which are using your seats when you reach the limit.
• More sources and profiles. The exact numbers depend on the plan.
• Recording and the extras built on it.

Limits and what they mean

When you reach one, the app names it specifically rather than showing a generic upgrade prompt. The common ones are the number of devices signed in, the number of profiles, and the number of sources or playlists stored.

Reaching a limit never deletes anything. Data you already have stays where it is; you are stopped from adding more until you free something up or move to a plan that allows it.

Limits that are not ours

Some restrictions come from your source rather than your plan: how many streams you may watch at once is set by whoever supplies them. The app distinguishes the two, and a code beginning MTP-12 or MTP-26 is usually your source’s limit rather than your subscription.
